IDENTITY CARD
After admission, students are required to get the identity card issued by the authorities of the Institution, containing information about course, class days and timing, section etc. It is valid for this Institution only.
The possession of this ID card entitles the students to be a part of this cultural centre, Ramakrishna Mission Swami Vivekananda's Ancestral House & Cultural Centre.

Students should note the following points while using ID card.
1. Students must wear their photo identity cards at all times within the premises of the Institution and show them during check-in.
2. If anybody loses the ID card, he/she should report the loss immediately to the authority for a replacement.  A nominal fee is charged for the reissuing of the ID card.
3. ID card becomes invalid after a specified session. It must be returned at the time of receiving the certificate.
4. Fraudulent use of the ID card will result in strict disciplinary action.

CLASS
Classes start with prayer. Attending the prayer is compulsory. Students must come to the classes within the time specified. Late-comers are not permitted to attend classes. A consideration of 10 minutes is given in case of any unavoidable circumstances.
Active participation and discussion in relation to a subject is encouraged in the classrooms. Students must be polite, dignified and respectful in their interaction with the teachers as well as their co-students.
There is a special facility in the form of Extra Practice Class for the students of Computer Application Courses. Students can practise freely any lesson taught earlier in their regular classes. Our faculty members are always present in the lab to provide necessary help to the students. To avail this facility students have to enroll at the office, subject to availability of time slots and a payment of a nominal charge.

ATTENDANCE
Students should be regular and punctual in their attendance. They must attend at least 75% of the total number of conducted classes, failing which; they will not be allowed to appear in the Term End Exam.

ACADEMIC CALENDAR
Academic calendar, stating dates of important academic events of the School of Languages & Computer Education, such as admission, examination, publication of results, list of holidays, etc. are displayed on the notice board for the students at the beginning of each session, so that they can plan their regular activities well in advance.

SYLLABUS
At the beginning of each session, syllabus for each course to be taught, are notified to the students by the concerned faculty members.

STUDY MATERIAL
The Institution has developed its own study material for certain courses to meet the requirements of the students of this Institution. Study materials are issued to the students at the beginning of the session.

INTENSIVE WORKSHOP
To give the students a practical exposer a workshop is arranged every Sunday. The timing for every workshop will be notified in accordance with the convenience of the students and faculty. This will be an interactive session between the students and the faculty. The curriculum for the workshop will be based on computer application and communicative skills.

LIBRARY
The Institution has a Text Book Library for the students. There are a large number of text books and reference books for the students of Higher Secondary to Post Graduation and also for the students of engineering and various other technical streams. The numbers of books are on the increase owing to further annual purchases keeping in view the changes brought about in various subjects and the needs of the students. Internet facility is also available to the students for further reference and self-updating.
Students are advised to avail these facilities by taking a membership for the same.

CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
The Institution takes additional care for the students by arranging youth conventions, special lectures and classes, debate competitions, elocution competitions, seminars, different cultural programmes etc. for the development of their self-confidence and personality. Attending these programmes is mandatory.

VIVEKANANDA YOUTH FORUM
To impart “man making and character building education” to the youth side by side with their regular academics, and inculcate in them human values of love, respect, service and compassion towards others. As well as develop mental and moral strength, strong will power, determination, self-confidence and such other attributes that Swamiji envisaged in the youth of the country.

ACTIVITIES
1. Class room teaching:  – Classes begin with prayers, Vedic chanting and silent contemplation. Discussion of human values is undertaken too.
2.  Interaction: – Interactive sessions are conducted, like group discussions and debates on relevant topics.
3. Cultural activities:  – The forum organizes intra and inter section cultural meets from time to time. There is recitation of poems and acting of dramas, delivering speeches.
4. Service activities: – “Seva” projects are undertaken periodically to give the students a first-hand experience of “Daridra Narayan Seva” and develop an awareness that one can be of service to others in various ways.

ASSESSMENT SYSTEM
The courses are designed to upgrade the skills of the students on a day-to-day basis. It becomes very difficult for the irregular students to improve steadily as they fail to develop their acumen through their lessons and class activities. That is why the Institution gives immense importance to regularity in attending classes.

The Institution holds the following examinations, the dates for which are notified to the students well in advance.

CLASS TEST: Class tests for each course are conducted during a session. These tests are aimed at bringing forth the strong and the weak points for the students in order to help them to improve, and perform better in the Term End / Semester Exam.

FINAL ASSESSMENT AND CERTIFICATION: A Term End Exam is held for each course at the end of the session to assess their progress. Every candidate appearing for the Exam will be awarded with a participation certificate in accordance with their performance.

RE-EXAM: In case a student wants to improve on his/her performance he/she can re-appear for the examination on payment of requisite fees.
